A Night of Digital Wisdom, Real Connection & Major Moxies Momentum

Catch up on our unforgettable night of connection, conversation, and community.

We’re still buzzing from last week’s Parenting in the Digital Age event in Concord, MA!
Together with 35 incredible parents and caregivers, we explored one powerful question:
How can we raise confident, curious, and digitally literate kids in a world that’s always online?

The night was a powerful reminder that the Moxies community and supporters are already showing up, with curiosity, care, and connection to create a better digital future for Gen Alpha and beyond.

Quick Takeaways from our conversations:

🔹 Model mindful tech habits
Your kids and teens are always observing. Be intentional about how you use devices: take breaks, set boundaries, and discuss your own screen time openly. They’ll learn more from what you do than what you say.

🔹 Talk with your kids about what they see online
Instead of monitoring silently, co-view content and ask questions. What do they think about a video or post? Would they have responded differently? This builds trust, critical thinking, and digital literacy.

🔹 Encourage them to create, not just consume
Help shift tech from passive scrolling to active expression. Whether it’s making videos, designing art, writing stories, or coding, creation builds confidence and keeps tech use purposeful.

🔹 Use thoughtful language when talking about tech habits
Saying “I’ve been on my phone more than I want to be” opens the door for reflection without shame. Phrases like “I’m addicted” can feel heavy or final. Choose words that empower change.

🔹 Remember: tech isn’t evil, but it is designed to be addictive
Help your kids understand how apps are built to keep them engaged, and that’s not their fault. Awareness builds resilience. And it’s on tech companies to create safer, more intentional designs for young users.

Big thanks to Dayna for bringing such an engaged and thoughtful crew together, and to Patti and Brenna from the Salem Coughlin Group for making this night happen. Huge thanks to our expert speakers, Eliza Ginsberg and Brinleigh Murphy Reuter of the Boston Digital Wellness Lab, for sharing tangible, thoughtful tools that we’ll be carrying with us (and into dinner convos!) for weeks to come.

We’re super excited that Moxies launches next week, June 26th!
We’re building a better digital world for girls 8–12: A fun, safe, invite-only space where they can connect with friends, customize avatars, take on quests, and earn rewards—all while building a healthy relationship with tech.
